Ryan Braun Wants To Come Back In July & That’s Totally Okay

When the Milwaukee Brewers signed Jackie Bradley Jr. yesterday, I believed that the door was closed on Ryan Braun. There is no room for him. Braun would have to play first base if he ever wanted time. We also haven’t heard much from Braun besides Adam McCalvy’s article in January. Trevor Plouffe, the former MLB player, broke some news on his show yesterday saying that Braun is targeting July as a comeback date for himself and that he would really only play for the Milwaukee Brewers. That’s totally fine by me.
@trevorplouffe on his show today speaking of conversation with Ryan Braun: “Ryan is thinking he can come back in July. He doesn’t want to play until then but he can be an addition for them, pretty much the only team he’d play for.” @1250AMTheFan @WinksThinks @SparkyRadio

On Twitter yesterday, I called him baseball’s Brett Favre. The guy who tweeted it out plus another follower took that to me I was bemoaning Braun’s wishy-wash attitude similar to what Favre did. I didn’t mean it like that. More so, it was about Braun wanting to wait and play versus playing immediately. The more ample comparison is Roger Clemens who did something similar. Will the Brewers want Braun back? I think so. If he’s a bench guy with the occasional DH in AL cities, sure why not add him to the roster. My guess is if the Brewers have a major injury (Hope not), Braun will be the first guy that people point to.
