The Legend of Kyle Schwarber Continues in Cubs 5-1 Win

As a Milwaukee Brewers fan, I wish Kyle Schwarber played on any other team in baseball. He’s easy to cheer for with his dad bod appeal, bad facial hair and the ability to crush baseballs makes him very likable. He’s already done some memorable things in the playoffs, but he added to his legacy in October with two more RBI’s helping push Chicago over Cleveland, 5-1. Schwarber already has 12 RBI’s in the postseason. That’s god-level clutch for a hitter in just his second year of baseball.
Schwarber looked “back” per say, and it makes you think this Cubs team could have 120 games with him in the lineup all year. He drove in two runs in two separate innings. Schwarber added to the scoring with each run driven in. He followed an Anthony Rizzo double with a base hit, and he picked up Ben Zobrist after an RBI triple. Overall, he went 2-for-4 for the evening. Schwarber is going to test and see if he can play left field. If he can’t go, Schwarber becomes a Russell Branyan-type where he will be brought in to homer or walk with runners on base. This has became the story of the World Series.
Jake Arrieta shouldn’t be slept on in this game. The former Cy Young award winner went nearly six innings of no-hit baseball. That hasn’t been done in quite some time in a World Series. Arrieta has his stuff going like we haven’t see in the past couple of months. Arrieta looks to be back to the ‘no one can touch me’ level of pitching which is an encouraging sign to see for Cubs and their fans alike. He will get the ball again if there’s a Game 6 which seems pretty likely.
Now, it’s to Chicago in what should be an absolute ruckus atmosphere for the next three days.
Charlie.
