Aaron Rodgers Speaks His Mind on Mental Health
Aaron Rodgers is never a guy to mince words. He is the type of athlete that you love if you want to hear from your athletes. He is always thoughtful, respectful, and understanding of the situation. Is he polished? Yeah, at times, but Rodgers also knows when to let it fly. He met with the media like he usually does on Wednesday afternoon and was asked about Dallas Cowboys’ quarterback Dak Prescott’s comments about mental health. They were in the news again this week when the NFL cameras saw Falcons tight end Hayden Hurst sharing a moment with Prescott about what it meant to him. Here’s what Rodgers had to say about Dak. It’s worth your time.
Thought I’d ask Aaron Rodgers today about mental health, specifically what he thinks the value of people like him and Dak Prescott talking about their headspace, happiness and mental well-being has in destigmatizing talking about that stuff.

While mental health moved to the forefront in the last few years, there is work still needed to be done. Hearing our star athletes talk about this kind of stuff is so important and so meaningful especially to younger people going through things. Who knows which person could watch that video and say ‘Hey, the guy I grew up with Aaron Rodgers, he struggles like I do sometimes with my mental headspace.’ That is really fucking cool. Good on Rodgers for giving such a well-thought-out response.
Also, a note to all the Tappers out there. If you’re going through something tough, there is always someone who wants to listen to you. Trust me on that. There are good listeners all around us. And if you truly cannot find anyone, my DMs are always open.
