Badgers Add Yet Another Four-Star Recruit To 2021 Class

Wisconsin Badgers football is changing the way they’re doing recruiting. For years, Wisconsin had the tradition of walk-ons becoming somebodies, and Badgers making lemons out of their three or two-star recruit lemonade. While they’re still having walk-ons make an impact, the idea of two or three-star recruits isn’t good enough for Wisconsin any longer. The last couple of years they’ve been on a tear, and with the 2021 season, they keep attracting high-profile players. They got another one yesterday when Jack Pugh, a tight end from Ohio committed to Wisconsin over a dozen different schools.

Pugh is a raw tight end with the ceiling as high as the moon. He is the prototypical NFL tight end size with 6’5, 236 lbs. It is likely too early to put that kind of expectation on a kid, but Pugh has the body for it. He started his high school career with a focus on basketball, therefore, the last couple of years is somewhat of a transition period of him. None of the teams that cared about Pugh’s inexperience. That speaks to the type of player he can be when he’s finished at Wisconsin.
The Ohio tight end leads an impressive group of four-star athletes planning to join the Badgers. He is the 4th four-star recruit for Wisconsin to bring in. If you combine what Wisconsin did in 2020 and now in 2021, they’re trying to make an impact in the recruiting ranks. Pugh is the newest addition to an impressive class. Badgers aren’t done though. They’ll keep trying to make their roster better for the future. If things work out in Paul Chryst’s way, the future Badgers could be the reason that Wisconsin is a national championship contender.
Wisconsin deserves a ton of credit for nailing this one home.
