Badgers Continue to Dominate Recruiting Trail By Adding Top Linebacker

The quarantine has not stopped the Wisconsin Badgers football program. They’ve continued to recruit like madmen and pitch the beauty of Wisconsin. They added another top player yesterday. Wisconsin gets its 12th commitment of the 2021 class by adding a top outside linebacker/edge Darryl Peterson. He chose Wisconsin over Alabama, Michigan, Penn State, Minnesota. That’s an impressive group of schools to beat out for the Badgers. They continue to look like a college football program that is done with two and three stars and ready to take their game to the next level.
Peterson is a pass rusher and part of a group that will help build Jim Leonhard’s defense in the future. The Ohio recruit had 21 sacks in his junior year. That is a school record. If you combine what Peterson did last season with other Badgers recruit Ayo Adebogun’s sack total, they would be one of the best pass-rushing teams in the country. Badgers are building some special across their entire team, but they’re also trying to keep at defense as one of the best in the country.
Wisconsin does have to pay attention to these guys. 247 Sports believes that this could be a summer and fall of commitment like we’ve never seen before. According to Bud Elliott and 247 team, the number of spring commits doubled to the number last season. Many are choosing schools early due to the lockdown. Elliott expects kids to recommit this Fall when things start to open back up and get more opportunities to check out schools. Wisconsin must work on keeping Peterson and all of their other commits.
You hate to feel advantageous in a time like this, but Wisconsin is making waves during this time. Many expect the Badgers to make a few more splashes this week. They’re looking like a team with a top 10 class. The future for Wisconsin might be the brightest its been in history.
