Why did Baker Mayfield Apologize For Saturday’s Antics?

Baker Mayfield etched a new chapter in his legacy at Oklahoma with his dazzling performance at Ohio State where the Sooners crushed the Buckeyes in the second half. Mayfield led the way with over 300 yards and three touchdowns. A strong Buckeyes defense had zero answers for him. At the end of the game, Baker Mayfield does a victory lap with the OU flag and plants in the O of Ohio State at midfield. It was fucking awesome. It could not have been more swaggy. Because it’s 2017, Mayfield apologized to the media today.

This sucks. Do you think anyone from the 1980’s Oklahoma teams would have apologized for anything they did? God no. Brian Bosworth must be furious hearing this apology. Same with Barry Switzer. Oklahoma is an underrated cocky football team. They play with a lot of that arrogance we’ve seen from Miami and others throughout the year. Mayfield carries that swagger like those other guys, but he does not need to apologize to appease a few Ohio State fans mad at him.
Mayfield has made Oklahoma a must-see event for the rest of the season though. I can’t begin to think what he’ll do to Baylor in two weeks.
Charlie.
