Milwaukee Brewers are trying to find their footing on the season. Win streaks haven’t come easy for Milwaukee. But things are starting to move in the right direction. Milwaukee won five of the last eight games they’ve played. Signs are pointing upward despite Milwaukee not currently in the playoffs. And oh by the way, it’s September aka Craigtember today. Craig Counsell’s Brewers teams are 40-14 in the month of September. Now, this month is more like May/June but we will not hate the idea. Orlando Arcia came through with a huge pinch-hit single to give Milwaukee the win tonight, 6-5.

Player of the Game: Orlando Arica – The Summer of Orlando continues in many ways, right? We have the Orlando bubble. And we have Orlando Arcia playing like an All-Star. At this point of the season, Arcia would be the Brewers’ representative if there was a game. How fucking crazy is that? Arcia continues to show development at the plate and starting to hit his stride. I wonder if it’s possible Arcia is a second-coming of Carlos Gomez with less power where he’s a guy that finds his stroke as a hitter midway through his 20’s after some immaturity issues.

Honorable Mention: Josh Hader – I could give this out to Ben Gamel who has seven straight hits, but Hader will get the honors today. Hader has a short-term memory. That’s a good thing for being a closer. Hader went out there and struck out the side without a batter reaching base after his awful outing on Saturday night. It disappeared from his brain and he dominated out there. Good for Hader.

One thing to know: Milwaukee’s goal for the next seven games is 3-4 or 4-3 – Here’s the Brewers’ mission for the next seven days. They get some time off between their games against Detroit and Cleveland. That’s good for them especially with guys like Ryan Braun dealing nagging back issues. But also, these games are the bridge before an eight-game showdown with Chicago and St. Louis. That’s when the Brewers need to make their move, therefore, these next seven are all about keeping their head level.

Next up: Milwaukee will welcome the Detroit Tigers to town for a two-game set starting tonight. Tigers are not as bad people projected them to be when the season began, and they’re rolling of late. Josh Lindblom will try to avoid the big inning against Detroit as that seems to be his problem. Michael Fulmer goes for Detroit. Fulmer is still trying to recapture his old stuff after some arm issues.
