Brewers Appear on The Outside of Machado Sweeps

After being the frontrunners last week, it appears the Milwaukee Brewers are on the outside looking in for Manny Machado. As a deal is expected to get done this week, FanCred’s Jon Heyman reports that the Los Angeles Dodgers are the favorites. That’s an update from yesterday where it seemed like the Philadelphia Phillies, Dodgers and Brewers all had a real shot at landing the All-Star shortstop. It appears that Los Angeles may have up the ante with the prospects that they’re giving to Baltimore. Although, these type of reports should always be handled very carefully and not rush to conclusions.
Breaking; The Dodgers appear to be the leading contender for superstar Manny Machado as talks head toward the finish line. The situation is fluid and brewers and phillies may still have an outside chance. Barring turnabout, deal should be done this week. Story comin on @Fancred

Heyman also said the deal is expected to get done this week. That makes things a little awkward for the Brewers if in fact he’s dealt to the Dodgers. Los Angeles will be making their only trip to Miller Park over the weekend, and Machado’s first games as a Dodger will be against the Brewers. Obviously, the feeling will be tghe same if the Brewers can somehow get Machado away from Los Angeles. Heyman is the point man on the Machado Watch considering his DEEP ties with Scott Boras who is Machado’s agent. You could also make the case that Boras is trying to drum up more interest from these other teams, but I really think that’s the frontrunner at this point.
Hopefully, we’ll avoid seeing Manny in Dodger blue this weekend.
