Bucks Buzz: Another Weekend Full of Wins

All the Milwaukee Bucks are doing is winning basketball games. They are 6-0. They’re one win away from tying the club record for the best start in club history. Mike Budenholzer tied Jason Kidd’s winning streak number at six games. Yes, that’s right Bucks fans, Jason Kidd’s teams never won more than six straight games. Milwaukee Bucks have beat teams by double digits five times this season. They did on Friday and Saturday night. They didn’t hit their fifth double-digit win until January last season. As I noted on Saturday night, the Bucks are a fucking wagon. Let’s look back on the weekend that was for Milwaukee.
Player of the Weekend: Donte DiVincenzo – Yes, the Michael Jordan of Delaware takes home the hardware for this weekend. Donte is doing all of the little things for Milwaukee as part of the bench mob. He’s proving his worth and making a lot of people feel fucking stupid. Donte had a season-high 15 points on Saturday and added nine points, five rebounds and four assists on Friday with a PER of +20. Donte belongs without question.
Honorable Mention: Giannis Antetokounmpo – Even though Giannis suffered a potential head injury (More on that later), he put on a show over the weekend as well. Not a surprised when the Bucks are blowing out teams out. Giannis had 15-12-6 on Friday then he added 21-7 on Saturday. There are only three or four teams in basketball that could actually stop Antetokounmpo. One of them looms on Monday, but he looks like he is taking another step forward.
One thing I like: Pushing down on the throat – I thought the quote from Khris Middleton on Saturday ‘We learned our lesson against Charlotte to not let a team back into the game.’ On Friday and Saturday, Milwaukee kept the foot down on the gas pedal and beat both team’s ass by end of it. That’s what good teams do. They don’t let a team get back into the mix.
One Thing I didn’t Like: Uh was Giannis concussed? – He mentioned after the game that he ‘blacked out’ during the game but passed the concussion tests. He did post an Instagram post today, so, I’m guessing he’s good to go for Monday. Still, that’s a scary moment for the Bucks. I know concussions aren’t really a thing in basketball, but they should be treated the same. I trust the Bucks did the right thing.

Next up: Undefeated battle on Monday night. It should be a doozy with Kawhi Leonard against Giannis Antetokounmpo. I’m surprised no one made an effort to get it on television somewhere. Toronto had the Bucks’ numbers in the past, but these are different times, fam. We’ll see what happens on Monday night.
