BucksCap: After Drama, Bucks Have No Issues With Hapless Wizards

Milwaukee Bucks have not played well in the bubble. We all know that and understand that. LeBron James of the Los Angeles Lakers talked about how the Lakers didn’t want to get into the playoff mindset yet hence why they were struggling. The same could be applied to the Milwaukee Bucks. Giannis’ headbutt might say the intensity picked up, but after his ejection, Milwaukee did not have any problems with Washington winning 126-113. Bucks are now 3-4 since the restart with one game left to go on Friday.
Player of the Game: Brook Lopez – What a game from Brook Lopez who continues to impress inside the bubble. Lopez finished with 24 points and made all five 3-pointers. Lopez is shooting 48 percent from deep in the bubble. Whatever he did over these four months to fix his outside shot worked and he is flourishing again. The Bucks big man is the third star of this team, not Eric Bledsoe. He might be the difference for Milwaukee this postseason.
Honorable Mention: Frank Mason Jr – I promise I’m not being a dick, but Frank Mason dominated the competition he played against all winter in the G League. Mason won the MVP of the G League and you can see why against a G-League roster on Washington. Mason Jr. had 19 points, six assists and five rebounds in a strong outing. Not sure if Mason Jr. can ever be a bench guy for a successful team like the Bucks, but he definitely can for a middle of the road team.
One thing to worry about – Is George Hill going to find it in the playoffs?: After a solid game against Toronto, George Hill reverted back to what we’ve seen most of the bubble. Poor shooting and not much else. He did have six assists and a PER of +17. Hill needs to find his mojo. I trust the Bucks coaches will work with him, and Hill will regain that touch again. He also could be regressing into what he usually is as a shooter after an unreal year which would not be great.
Next up: Bucks take on Memphis to end the bubble restart. My guess is that every important Bucks player will sit. Mike Budenholzer will help his guy Taylor Jenkins get into the play-in game, right? That has to happen. Now, Milwaukee could still win, but you know Bud is taking care of his boy.
