There is a weird stat that looms with the Milwaukee Bucks and the Miami Heat. Milwaukee has scored less than 90 points once a year in Miami for the last four years. It is very rare to find a stat that intersects the Mike Budenholzer and Jason Kidd years. But that’s one. Why? Well, South Beach isn’t an easy place to play. There are more distractions there than almost any other place on the NBA schedule. Additionally, the schedule makers always find a way to make Milwaukee play there on a back-to-back or some other wild travel sequence. Milwaukee cannot control that, but that will not stop people from unleashing their takes on the free world.

Milwaukee did not play their best basketball. It sucked. But guess what? Those games are not going to happen very often. Heat shot nearly 50 percent from three, and Milwaukee shot 20 percent from three. Those rarely happen in the game of basketball. I know that so many people will jump down the Bucks’ throats tomorrow because it’s a bigger deal when they lose games. Yet this is not that important of a loss. Do not take it too seriously today. Avoid any sort of national radio or Twitter takes. It is not worth the time. Bucks and Heat meet in two weeks in Milwaukee with Bucks having the night off prior. Here are a few things I’m interested in from an adjustment standpoint.

1. No more Ersan Ilyasova – In my honest opinion, Ersan sealed his fate tonight. I’m not sure how you can give this guy meaningful minutes. Unsure if Budenholzer liked the matchup better than Marvin Williams, but that was a weird move that didn’t pay off in the slightest.

2. Free Giannis up from Bam if possible – People will make some comments that Bam Adebayo is a ‘Giannis stopper.’ But I would like you to watch the tape. The refs did not call a goddamn thing. Bam hacked more than I did in middle school basketball. Still, he is a good matchup for Giannis, and the Greek Freak will have to adjust to him. That isn’t an easy task.

3. Try not to have the other guys beat you – Part of the reason why I think many people see Miami as a dangerous opponent is they have a bunch of guys who can beat you. Tonight, it was Jae Crowder in quarter two then Duncan Robinson and new Bucks enemy Goran Dragic in quarter three. Having those guys beat you versus Jimmy Butler or Adebayo is a tough look.

Next up: Milwaukee gets a day off before heading home to play Indiana for a one-game homestand. Indiana played San Antonio tonight and has won four straight games. Bucks will look to find their offense again after two tough road outings in Charlotte and Miami. Hopefully, they can get everything right before Los Angeles on Friday night.
