Wisconsin Badgers didn’t need to win on Saturday. It was a SnoTapWI House Money situation. Sure, they would win a share of the Big Ten title. But in reality, the game mattered more to Indiana. It is Senior Day. They could push off the bubble and be a lock in the NCAA Tournament. Indiana looked ready to put Wisconsin away as they led by seven points in the final seven minutes of the game. That’s when everything changed. The final quarter of the game finished with Wisconsin winning that portion, 23-10 and win 70-66. Wisconsin’s ability to go on that run on the road was the cherry on top of an amazing turnaround.

Player of the Game: Nate Reuvers – For a few games, it looked like Micah Potter’s play affected Reuvers. That doesn’t seem to be a thing anymore. Reuvers finished with 17 points and seven rebounds. He did most of his work inside the paint versus on the outside. Reuvers did a great job against Indiana’s big men. This was Reuvers’ best offensive rated game during conference play and best since the Tennessee game.

Honorable Mention: Brad Davison – Some other guys deserve this nod from a scoring and rebounding perspective (Aleem Ford) but Davison deserves this one. He made two free throws to ice it with everyone booing him in that gym. There was an immense amount of pressure there. No one likes him and he cooly drains each free throw. I watched that in awe a little bit to see Davison completely drown out the noise. He scored eleven points in total.

One Thing to Like: Wisconsin shuts down Devonte Green – After a hot start to the game where Devonte Green had 16 points, he became an afterthought in the second half. Green went 0-for-3 from the field and could not buy a basket later in the game. That is a good adjustment from D’Mitrik Trice and the coaching staff of the Badgers.

Another Thing to Like: Badgers became road warriors overnight – Remember at the start of the season, one of the narratives about this team were they could not win on the road. Badgers started 0-5 in away or neutral site games. They finished 6-9 which isn’t the best, but considering how hard it is for teams to win Big Ten road games, anyone should take it. Badgers do excel at home, but they found a way to be successful when not at the Kohl Center.

Next up: Wisconsin will wait until Friday to play in Indianapolis. They will await the winner of Rutgers/Michigan. The game will begin at 11:00 am. Wisconsin is 1-1 against Rutgers and 1-0 versus Michigan. Badgers handled the Wolverines so well on the road that my assumption is they would be the team that Wisconsin prefers to face on Friday afternoon.
