CFB Black Friday Picks

CFB Black Friday, one of my favorite days of the year. These are being done at the last-minute, but that’s what happens when the two Turkey dinner life comes at you quick and you fall asleep on your recliner. We are going to do our traditional Saturday post later this afternoon, but for now, we’re going to look at the six big games today.
5. Washington (-6.5) at 22. Washington State 2:30 FOX – The most meaningful Apple Cup game in awhile. This figures to be a great game. There’s so much on the line, and these two teams absolutely hate each other. Jake Browning should be able to throw against this Cougars defense, but Luke Falk can make things happen as well. One thing I like about Washington State in this game is they are really good against the run. Myles Gaskin will have a hard time to gain anything on the ground. My biggest concern for the Cougs is Mike Leach might screw them out of this game. He takes so many risks and got burned by not taking the easy points versus Colorado. I worry he might try to do too much. I’m taking Cougars in a close, hard-fought classic. WSU 38-33
16. Nebraska at Iowa (-3) 2:30 pm ABC – Love that Nebraska still plays on Black Friday even being in the Big 10. Tommy Armstrong gets the ball for Nebraska in a must-win situation. If Cornhuskers lose this game, they will give Wisconsin the Big Ten West title. In the last four years, the road team has won in this rivalry. I’m not sure what that means for today’s game. Iowa showed signs of life in the past couple of weeks. LeShaun Daniels Jr. and Akrum Wadley should have a massive day on the ground with Nebraska’s run defense I’m still unsure how good Armstrong can be and think the rushing game of Iowa proved to be the difference. IOWA 20-14
Toledo at 21. Western Michigan (-7) 4:00 pm ESPN2 – This could be the game of the day. Toledo is one of the best teams in the MAC on both sides of the ball.
They only trail Broncos in being the top offense and defense in the MAC. This could be a stellar game. Western Michigan needs to play very loose at the start of this game. If they end up playing tight, Rockets have a real shot at the dethroning the unbeaten Broncos. Logan Woodside has been a great quarterback for Toledo, yet I’m unsure if he can withstand the Western Michigan pressure. Corey Davis is the best player on the field, and in a close game, I’m taking him WMU 31-28
20. Houston (-6) at Memphis 11:00 am ABC – This is a fun way to start the day. Cougars are rolling hot after beating Louisville, and their defense really figure some shit out in the past couple of weeks. Todd Orlando has done a great mid-year with this bunch. Memphis is a decent team, but they haven’t handle good competition well. Navy blew them out, same with Ole Miss (Not a good team now, but at the time although both games were on the road. Tigers fight in this one, but Cougars get the late cover. HOU 35-24
19. Boise State (-8) at Air Force 2:30 pm CBS Sports Network – Broncos still have an outside shot at the being the representative for the New Year Six bowl at-large representative. They’ve been pretty strong all year, but Boise wouldn’t go to the Mountain West Championship game unless Wyoming loses to New Mexico. Air Force took down Boise the last two years, and they certainly can do again this year. Falcons have a strong offense, but I worry Boise offense is too strong for anything Air Force has on defense. They’ve looked vulnerable in past couple weeks. I’m riding Boise, but it’s very close. BOISE 31-27
