Cubs Mad at National Analyst for Doing His Job

Chicago Cubs are not happy with ESPN. Yes, you read that right. Chicago, one of the teams who draw the most attention from the mothership, is mad at the Worldwide Wide Leader. Why are they upset? Well, Alex Rodriguez criticized Yu Darvish for training with the club whilst being injury and that he could be a distraction. Being softer than baby shit, Yu and his agents responded with some harsh criticism of Rodriguez. Cubs General Manager Theo Epstein threw gas on the fire this morning with these comments towards Rodriguez.
Theo Epstein texted Alex Rodriguez about the Yu Darvish criticism. A-Rod "defended himself," Epstein says.
"It didn't really resonate with me," Epstein said.

Theo Epstein on how #Cubs and others rallied around Yu Darvish after the Alex Rodriguez criticism: "You're never more sympathetic than when you're attacked by someone who's polarizing to begin with."

It’s funny to see Cubs fans in the mentions talking about PEDs when they cheered for the most notable PED user Sammy Sosa. Let’s not get anything mistaken. PEDs were the only reason Sosa was good. It just made guys like Rodriguez, Barry Bonds, and Mark McGwire. They are probably all Hall of Famers without taking steroids. Cubs having issues with ESPN and since it’s Rodriguez, they have issues with FOX too who have the rights to the National League postseason broadcasts. The fact the Cubs are concerning themselves with what an analyst is saying about their team, and it’s about a player who might not play this season is very telling. If A-Rod was critical of Javy Baez, I might be more sympathetic towards Chicago being upset about this sort of thing.
Cubs cannot block out the noise from a national perspective, and that’s a concern. It probably tells you the Chicago media puts these guys in a bubble and protects the shield more than providing criticism. The Chicago media doesn’t want to touch the Cubs, and the critique of ESPN tell us just that.
Charlie.
