Falling Asleep Before Miss State-UCONN Game Was A Mistake

What do you want to say ‘I fucked up.’ A classic line from a UCONN coach. This happened to me on Friday night as I missed the one of the sports moments of the year to date when i dozed off on my couch after a thrilling Bucks game. I woke up at midnight to see my girlfriend texted me a bunch and looking through my phone, I missed UCONN women losing their 111-game winning streak with Mississippi State taking them down a buzzer-beater setting up an all SEC final.

Morgan Williams hit the game-winning shot in overtime to take down mighty UCONN. The streak is officially dead. One of the best in sports is no longer around, and Bulldogs are going for a major championship. What a moment for women’s college basketball. People say that UCONN women are bad for the sport are idiots. It captivated quite an audience on Friday night. Also, what a smart move by the NCAA to have these games on Friday versus Sunday. This game captivated everyone. As Gary Parrish said, this will always be the night that a women’s hoops game took all eyes away from a James Harden versus Steph Curry matchup.
Hopefully, it’s a precursor for signs of things to come tonight.
