Fire Up Wrestlemania Tapes for Brendan Dassey

Big news out of Wisconsin yesterday was Brendan Dassey, of Making A Murderer fame, received a release from the courts to be free. The Wisconsin attorney general’s office quickly blocked the release, and right now, we’re in a holding pattern with one of the more recongnizable faces in Netflix documentary. Dassey has already served a decade in prison, and that appears to coming to an end sooner rather than later.
What does this say about media in 2016? We saw it had zero influence in the election, but in a documentary format where you present the case as such plus there were many moments where lawyers didn’t prepare Dassey. Additionally, he had a learning disability and his cousin, Steven Avery, took advantage of him. We are entering uncharted waters when a documentary helps free a person who is serving a lifetime prison sentence.
