Friendly Reminder, Madden Ratings Mean Nothing

My new personal hill to die on is Madden Ratings. Who actually cares about them? Madden is part of pop culture and has been for years. I get it. It is arguably the most popular sports video game, but gamers tell me (Mostly Mitch Ross, co-host of Tapping The Keg) that the game is low key trash. Every year the NFL is hellbent into making Madden Ratings an actual thing. Players get mad about it and it’s a whole thing. I did a podcast last year around this time talking about this exact topic. I’ll embed the link below. But they do not matter at all. Who gives one fucking shit that Aaron Rodgers is an 89 in a video?
Seriously, they are not worth a discussion topic. If a local radio station does more than 10 minutes on Madden ratings, they do not deserve your time of day. I’m not trying to shit on video gamers either. Let’s make that clear. I get that these assholes make a ton of money on Twitch and I’m very fucking jealous of that. But what I don’t get is the idea of this being some big deal. ‘Oh, Aaron Rodgers is not going to be as good this year?’ Well, maybe you suck at the game and need a Coach Duggs influence in your locker room.
