Golf Loses Their King, Arnold Palmer

I’m not going to sit here and pretend I know what it was like to watch Arnold Palmer play golf, but he made the sport into a must-see event.Palmer is one of the greatest athletes of all-time. He made the sport of golf look cool and helped bring to mainstream audiences along with Jack Nickulas who came shortly after him. Given what you heard from the media, Palmer seemed like a generally good dude, and no one had a bad word to say about him. He’s going to be missed all throughout the following year whether it’s at his tournament at Bay Hill or when Gary Player and Jack are teeing off at The Masters. He’s ‘The King’ for a reason.
Palmer is also an influential athlete when it comes to sponsorships. He made 30 million dollars off the course when his career was done versus only 1.8 million on the course. That’s pretty incredible, and he was one of the first with major endorsements.
RIP Arnie.
Charlie.
