Isaiah Thomas Drops 53 On Sister’s Would-Be 23rd Birthday
Scott Van Pelt put it best that “Sports are the greatest reality show.” I love that line. I use it probably more than I should, but it’s a great way to really depict what’s happening in the sports world. Case in point, Isaiah Thomas last night who scored 53 points in an overtime win versus Washington on the day of his sister’s 23rd birthday. As you know, she passed away a couple weeks ago. Celtics now that a commanding lead in the series, and Thomas is finding his stroke again which is bad news for the rest of the league.

This was an iconic performance by Thomas. No matter what happens in the NBA Playoffs the rest of the way, we’ll remember this moment with Celtics point guard’s night. It also goes down in Celtic lore being the second-highest scoring night in Boston’s storied history. Wizards are now on the ropes being down 2-0. To me, it’s surprising. I liked what I saw from Wizards in Round 1, but their poor defense plus no bench are festering issues in the second round.
