Former Milwaukee Bucks’s second overall pick Jabari Parker always had a special place in his heart for the City of Milwaukee. He was from Chicago but showed a lot of love to Milwaukee throughout his entire career with the Bucks. Parker left Milwaukee on a two-year deal to Chicago for 20 per year then went to Washington in a trade. After that, he bounced around to Atlanta then to Sacramento in another trade. It is crazy to think Parker has been on five teams already. Given where Parker was drafted he is likely considered a ‘bust’, but even as a ‘bust’ on the court, Parker has done a great deal in the community. Bari is a great dude. He surprised everyone by joining Milwaukee residents in a peaceful protest this afternoon for Justice for George Floyd.

Looking back on it, I was probably too hard on Parker that summer of his free agency. Do I blame Gery Woelfel for that? Maybe. Mitch Ross, my podcast partner, always seemed to hold a special place in his heart for Parker. And maybe this is part of the reason. He always seemed like a genuine human being. I still believe that Jabari could be a big-time NBA player someday. He is only 25 years old, and as he consistently shows support for the Milwaukee, whether he’s here or not, says everything about him. I want him to succeed somewhere.
