Keston Hiura Gives Brewers An Offensive Lift
Milwaukee Brewers decided to give their offense a jolt on Tuesday morning. Keston Hiura, the Brewers top prospect, got the call up to the big leagues as Travis Shaw went to the Injured List with a ‘wrist injury.’ Brewers are in desperate need for an additional right-handed bat, and they received that with Hiura. He ripped it up in Triple-A through the first two months. People thought that Milwaukee may wait on bringing him up to keep his service time, but the time is now for him and Milwaukee’s baseball team. This is a potentially exciting time for all Brewers fans.
Hiura had a two-hit night in his first night in the big leagues and found himself on base three times. The new second baseman belonged right away, and the moment did not seem to big for him. He is a pure hitter with some legitimate pop. Hiura has enough talent and skill to be considered at MVP level years later in his career. Adding him to an order of Lorenzo Cain, Christian Yelich, Ryan Braun, Mike Moustakas, and others could be absolutely lethal and make the Brewers one of the best offensive teams in baseball if Hiura continues to do what he’s done throughout the minor leagues.
Expectations are obviously important though. Sure, he had a big night in game one, and with the way Hiura hits, I wouldn’t be surprised if he rips the shit out of the ball for the next two weeks. Teams do not have a book on him yet, therefore, he will see any and all pitches because teams will not know how to pitch him. Then if Hiura stays up in the big leagues, he gets a book like everyone else and a slump could occur for him. Or he starts completely slow out of the gates too. That’s a real possibility as well. We should be enjoying Hiura’s time up here and taking it game-by-game.
Is ‘Call Him Kestdaddy’ too intense or too obscure?
