Kevon Looney Brings Warriors Teammates to his Alma Mater

This went viral yesterday as Golden State Warriors forward and Milwaukee native Kevon Looney went to his alma mater Hamilton high school to get his jersey retired in an afternoon ceremony. Looney surprised the packed gym as the crowd gathered for an assembly when the Golden State Warriors all appeared to join Looney. Everyone was there. Kevin Durant, DeMarcus Cousins, Andre Iguodala, Head Coach Steve Kerr and of course, Steph Curry. The crowd went insane as you could imagine seeing all of the players in the attendance. Cool move by the Dubs to show up for Looney’s event.

Looney wasn’t done there. He did a benefit at the UpDown tonight on Brady Street with Milwaukee Bucks players Sterling Brown and John Henson to fight gun violence in Milwaukee. The former Hamilton Wildcat is a real deal good guy. A part of me would love him to come back to Milwaukee and see what type of impact he can make in the community living here again. Milwaukee is home, but he ventured away in college heading to UCLA then after a year, he ended up with the World Champion Warriors team. He’ll get some run in the game tonight at the Fiserv Forum with the injury to Draymond Green.
