Michael Deiter, Badgers Legend, Needs QB Reps

Yesterday at Big 10 Media Day, Wisconsin Badgers offensive lineman Michael Deier met with the media to talk about the season. Dieter is a pretty good center, and he’s going to be an NFL Draft pick someday. But Deiter gained some notoriety last season for his touchdown catch against Illinois, and the campaigning he did to win the Piesman Trophy from SB Nation. Dieter told the media yesterday that he wants to get a touchdown pass under his belt this season. My first thought is move over, Jared Lorenzen.

I’m trying to think how you would get a lineman to pass the ball without it being the most disrespectful thing ever. Like could you imagine a big guy lined up being the center to pass the ball? That couldn’t happen. It would have to be the slowest reverse pass ever. Or maybe it’s a hitch play then Deiter finds the guy on the other side. Let’s hope Paul Chryst deveses a way to do this then gets called out for being disrespectful.
PS: Dieter’s quest for a touchdown pass reminds me of when I played high school hoops and wanted to be the point guard once. At 6’3 250 as a freshman, I rode the pine as I had zero coordination. We’re up 30 late, and I convince coach to let me play point guard. I take the ball up the court with an immediate turnover leading to me getting pulled immediately. Worth it.
