Mike Budenholzer’s Meek Criticism of Officiating Yesterday Was Gutless

After Game 2, both Toronto and Milwaukee’s coaches had a right to complain about the officiating. Boston’s (Toronto’s opponent) Jayson Tatum got to the line almost 15 times on a few questionable calls. The officials gifted Jimmy Butler a free throw in the final second of the Bucks-Heat game. Nick Nurse lit into the officials. Saying that they ‘got what they wanted’ with Tatum getting to the free throw line often. It was a scathing criticism of the officials that will likely draw a fine from the league. Nurse stuck up for his guys though which I respect. Then you have Mike Budenholzer. He gives the soft ass response to what happened. No anger in his voice, no language that points the finger at them fucking up. It truly lacked any sort of testicular fortitude.
To compare and contrast what Nick Nurse said versus Bud will make you want to throw things all over your house. But we are going to do that because Bucks’ fans need to see a coach that knows the importance of this. Nurse is riding the officials after the game in hopes of a friendlier whistle in Game 3. Nurse likely gets it because the NBA does not want Toronto down 3-0. Budenholzer either doesn’t care or wants to save his pennies. Budenholzer sounds like a coaching version of Toby Flenderson compared to what we have with Nurse. Let’s watch the tapes.
Nick Nurse was asked how frustrating it was to see Jayson Tatum take over.
"The only frustrating part about it is this: He shoots 14 free throws, which is as much as our whole team shoots. … They took very good care of him tonight." pic.twitter.com/KvIgFS3RXc

Bucks coach Mike Budenholzer on final foul call of Game 2 loss to Heat: “I’d say we’re disappointed with the judgment, the decision, the timing. It’s a tough job. I have a lot of respect for the officials. We have our way of seeing things. We’re going to disagree.” pic.twitter.com/8mmLdqFV7U

Maybe Budenholzer will see the last two-minute report and react differently today yet I doubt it. Some people like how he responded over Nurse’s complaints and I couldn’t disagree more. Giannis is getting fucked every time he is out there by the officials. They do not treat him fairly. Yet their coach doesn’t think complaining about it will help. That’s a shame.
