NFL Takes First Steps In Fan Limitations For 2020

Many questions have been around the National Football League and its fans this season. Will fans be in the stands? Will they be required in masks? What other precautions might we see? I’ve praised the NFL for their full steam ahead approach all along. It appears they’re learning from their friends overseas. Reports came out today that the NFL will not have fans in the first six to eight rows leaving that available for local sponsors similar to what we see in the English Premier League. Also, reports are out the NFL will let its team and city decide on how many fans.
The first six to eight rows in every NFL stadium will be off limits to fans this season – covered with a tarp that will have sponsor logos that can be seen on TV. @BenFischerSBJ has the details. https://t.co/nWc8XiHBRt

A league source has told me NFL teams will be in charge of the number of fans allowed in stadiums this season. It will be based on the state and local guidelines for COVID-19. There will be very limited access to the field as well @WBAYhttps://t.co/QgCmGsTOQS

First of all, I’m going to love the brand that tries to incorporate leap with their marketing message. Every sponsor that has a stake in the Packers should be figuring out how to get ad space. Second, Green Bay could have an advantage with state and local rules. Brown County is not the size of other places that will be playing football this fall. Packer might get an advantage in terms of how many people in the stands. The question is how many should be there? Mark Murphy cares about his reputation, and this matters to him too.
My assumption is Green Bay and other NFL teams are working with local and state officials to figure out proper size using distancing measures. Green Bay’s bleachers could prove useful versus individualized seats. However, things get figured out, we’re looking at a different Lambeau this Fall.
