Packers Continue to Add Secondary Depth
You never know which player will make a difference for a football team. The rosters are so deep that anyone could make an impression and work their way to be a member of the organization. Green Bay Packers continue to make small moves throughout the offseason adding players from other organizations versus street free agents. Green Bay added another one on Monday by signing Mike Tyson, a former Seahawks, and Texans safety. He played in 10 games last season for Houston. Packers keep adding to their secondary which is a wise move for a position filled with younger guys.

Tyson plays strong safety and will likely try to compete for a roster spot to back up either Darnell Savage Jr. or Josh Jones. Brian Gutekunst has a type, and that type is a versatile football player. Tyson would fall into that category. When Seattle drafted him, they moved him to cornerback due to his long arms and decent speed per the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel’s report. But he went to Houston the following year and played safety where he started two games last season for the Texans. The ability to have a guy play multiple positions in the secondary is a nice thing to have especially with all the different action that goes on at the line of scrimmage.
Fans are mostly getting fired up about his name. They’re secondary now feature a ‘Tyson’ ‘Savage’ and ‘Smash’ which is a hell of a combination. The GIFs that will be happening when this dude makes a big play should be something else.
