Packers Steal Adrian Amos From Bears
After the first day of free agency, some Packers fans expressed a tinge of concern. They were worried Green Bay did not make any moves. The talk around the NFL had been the Packers were going to be players in free agency. Little did they know that Tuesday would be the day for free agency. Green Bay signed four free agents. Four! All of them add something this team has been missing for the last few years. Adrian Amos stays in the division, but he heads up north as the Packers take from the Bears and finally add a safety. It is a four-year deal worth 37 million dollars.
The #Packers aren’t done: They are also signing #Bears S Adrian Amos, sources say. Two big deals, two huge additions on D. A former rival comes to Green Bay.

Amos is a ballhawking safety. He loves to deliver the pain whether it’s in the passing game or coming up to stop the run. He profiled great on Pro Football Focus in both of those categories and was an underrated part of a strong Bears defense. He will now try to add experience to a Packers defensive backfield that definitely needs help in one or two ways. Green Bay’s safety issues were one of the major concerns with this team heading into the offseason. Amos shores up that problem right away.
Couple things to love about Amos for Packers fans – versatility and his age. Vic Fangio played him at both strong safety and free safety. If the Packers wanted to go out and spend on another safety, Amos could fill the other role. I’m curious if Green Bay asked him what position he prefers on a defense. Amos is also 25 years young. Four years could mean another deal with the Packers, or he could be in line for a huge deal elsewhere. You have to love the ability to add young talent.
Since it doesn’t happen often, it’s always fun to steal a great player from Chicago
