Paul Chryst Explaining How He Selects His Gameday Crewneck Is Perfect

Wisconsin Badgers are under a month to go before they’re playing football again. It is crazy to think where things went in the last few months. There have been a lot of ups and downs throughout it. When Wisconsin kicks off against Illinois in a month, Badgers head coach will be on the sidelines in his famous crewneck sweater. This is Chryst’s look too. Bill Belichick has the hoodie. Lane Kiffin has the visor. Chryst has the crewneck. On Wilde and Tausch yesterday, they asked him about the gameday crewnecks and gave a great response.

Let’s unpack this a little bit further. First, he talks about how turtlenecks suck. I tend to agree. Even when they got back into fashion a couple of years ago, I did not join in on the trend. Turtlenecks are for elementary school children and the French. “When you got a hint of being a fat-ass” is an incredible, relatable quote for a lot of us here in Wisconsin. I feel like I get the hint of being a fat-ass more than I should be I digress. Chryst is an everyday human with this commentary and makes me like him more.
Also, this back and forth is easily why Chryst is much funnier and personable than the interviews at halftime or after the game when Chryst usually pulls a crewneck Belichick on reporters.
