Robert Tonyan Wants to be The Next George Kittle.

Robert aka Big Bob Tonyan has some goals for himself as a Packers’ tight end. He told the media yesterday that his goal was to become just like or the next George Kittle. That is an ambitious goal considering Kittle just made 75 million dollars with a five-year extension. The reason for the comparison is Tonyan spends the offseason working out with Kittle. He hopes that those sessions for the last two years bled into Tonyan’s skills as a tight end and the impact can be real in 2020.
There are rumors that Tonyan is working with the 1s in training camp. Since the Packers have turned media access into Soviet Russia, it is unknown how much Tonyan is working with the ones. When asked by Matt LaFleur if Tonyan could be the starting tight end, he replied ‘Absolutely.’ We have all got ourselves psyched for Jace Sternberger (And for good reason, he has a future), but the tight end of this year could end up being Tonyan.
The flashes are there for Big Bob to be a great player for the Packers. Aaron Rodgers has some trust in him. He put a few difficult passes Tonyan’s way and he came down with them. Such as the Dallas game last year, and the Seattle game the year prior. Unsure if LaFleur and Rodgers will work together when it comes to personnel for tight ends. With the number of young guys they have at that position, those two should work together to ensure Rodgers has the guys he wants out there. LaFleur will also know from practices who is performing and who isn’t at the tight end position.
I’m excited about the Big Bob hype and I’m buying stock in him just like I am with Sternberger.
Charlie.
