Rumors of OBJ to Vikings Were Short-Lived

We have NFL Draft rumors! This one is a hot and fresh one with the Minnesota Vikings being rumored to be after Odell Beckhman Jr. That is the type of thing that might give some Green Bay Packers fans pause. These rumors have been already called ‘false’ by multiple Browns sources. It could be a smokescreen or just someone with a bad source. The part that seemed to make no sense in the package. Even though Beckham Jr. has a cap hit of 14 million, that is not a significant price for a star receiver.
So, as I reported this morning on @MandMWFAN, Source has told me that the Browns and Vikings are in discussions on a trade that would send @obj to the Vikings for a 2nd and 5th round pick next year. Trade is not done, but the deal is being discussed.

Now could this deal happen? Perhaps. But the price would be far more significant than this. Browns do Browns things, but to give up on Beckham Jr. without adding a top 50 pick seems off. Further, Minnesota would have to release two or three players for this to happen. Also, this is the deepest receiver draft in recent memory. Why would the Vikings get Beckham Jr when GM’s are saying there are No. 1 receiver talents in the third round. Or that a fifth-rounder could be an immediate impact player? The receiver market is too rich for the Vikings to make this deal and for the Browns to trade Beckham Jr. Let’s also not forget that Kevin Stefanski has not seen Beckham Jr. at all with this team.
If this deal were to somehow happen, I would likely need to get a Zoom room to conduct Packers therapy. Because Packers fans would not be pleased with this happening although I do think it would be a tire fire.
