Baseball is officially back today. It is an awesome moment. There will be people that say ‘Well the cases are still surging across the country and we shouldn’t have sports back.’ Sure, but they figured out how to do it safely. Being on the road will be a true test versus at home. Still, I am confident in a full 60-game season with playoffs. While we did five bold predictions on Monday, today are the Brewers worth getting fired up over this season. Some might be new faces, some old, and others might be ready to breakout.

1. Keston Hiura – What should have been a full season of Keston Hiura got shortened to 60 games. Hiura is the guy that may make or break the Brewers’ season. They get support from Christian Yelich, but they need a secondary member on the team to pick up the slack. Hiura can be that dude. He is a great contact hitter with some power mixed in too. Hiura hit a bomb last night against the Chicago White Sox. Let’s hope there is more where that came from all season.

2. Corbin Burnes – I talked a bit about him on Monday and the podcast, but I’m ready to get hurt again with Burnes. I bought all the stock last year to see crash to the ground. Burnes seems dialed in and knows what he has to do now to be a successful pitcher. Brewers’ team seems very high on Burnes as well. Of all the games this weekend, I’m probably looking forward to his start the most.

3. Christian Yelich – To not add Yelich would be trying way too hard. I will not do it here. Yelich is always worth getting excited for. You feel like an idiot if you miss a Yelich at-bat. Even if you’re not watching the game in full, you likely tune in for the four or five at-bats of Yeli. What would be his craziest stat line of this year? It might be hitting .400 honestly. That would probably not count in the record books. Another thing could be Yelich making a real run at the Triple Crown. He did it in 2018 and I believe in 2019 as well. Again, that might carry asterisk but still fun

4. Bobby Wahl – Remember, this guy was supposed to be a set-up man for the Brewers last season and tore his ACL in Spring Training. Wahl can throw a little gas. He can be a seventh or eighth inning guy for the Brewers. He has the chops to be a good reliever for this squad. There isn’t enough being talked about with the right-hander.

5. Brock Holt – Part of me wanted to put Logan Morrison here, but you’re all probably sick of me on the LoMo Bandwagon. Let’s go with Holt instead. He could be the Hernan Perez of this team with more contact. Holt can be used all over the diamond, and trust me, Craig Counsell will take advantage of that. Holt becoming a fan favorite as he did in Boston feels like a lock.
