The Challenge Power Rankings Week 8: Contenders Need to Make Their Move

MTV is using its head. The Challenge is being watched and talked about more people. Here at SnoTapWI, we’re treating it like a sport. CBS Sports, SB Nation, Barstool Sports, and others are doing the same. MTV knows their ratings are likely better than what they were for the last challenge. Therefore, they’ve been stretching out their shows. It is clear to anyone that they’re extending the shows. Even though last week saw only an elimination, it was an excellent one. It did shake up the ratings. Will more contenders start making moves to get a red skull? We’ll see in a double-elimination episode tonight.
TOP CONTENDERS
1. Rogan (LW: 2)
2. Jenny (LW 3)
3. Jordan (LW: 1)
4. Wes (LW: 4)
5. Johnny Bananas (LW:5)
Thoughts: With the elimination of Tori, Jordan takes a tumble. There are a few things I wonder about Jordan at this point. One, he still doesn’t have a red skull. Does he throw himself in tonight to try and get one with the worst case being ‘I get to be with my fiancee.’ Second, who is his major alliance now that Tori is gone? He doesn’t have that teammate of his like Jordan did for the first seven weeks.
CONTENDERS WITH A FLAW
6. Kaliah (LW 12)
7. Bear (LW 9)
8. Nany (LW:7)
9. Fessy (LW 8)
10: Dee (LW 13)
11. Jenna (LW 18)
12. Mattie (LW 10)
13. Cory (LW 12)
14. Swaggy C (LW: 14)
Thoughts: There is some movement here in the second tier. Tori is gone. Jenna moves back into the top 14 after her elimination win. We’ll see if she can put it together without a visit to elimination this week. Kaliah and Bear are one of the biggest storylines which means they’re near the top. Kaliah also seems well-protected after the Nelson drama. Nany might end up at six when it is all said and done, but she needs to reign in her drinking a bit. Dee gets a bump up after I realized her power in this game.
COULD CONTEND IF THINGS GO PERFECTLY
15. Kaycee (LW: 15)
16. Kyle (LW 16)
17. Bayleigh (LW: 18)
18. Aneesa (LW 20)
19. Josh (LW 21)
Thoughts: It pains me to put Josh in here, but he deserves it over Nelson. Nelson is a complete mess right now. Everything else stays the same. With no Challenge, we didn’t see much from this group besides Nany trying to hump Kaycee. Look for this group to be on the chopping block during double-elimination this week. t
NOT A THREAT TO CONTEND
20. Nelson (LW 20)
21. Melissa (LW: 23)
22. Big T (LW: 22)
Thoughts: My two choices for those who will get eliminated are likely in this group. Nelson seems good as gone. He burned all of the bridges in the house. The only way for Nelson not to go in is for Cory to win a Challenge or him win it. Big T seems to get injured and might affect how she ends up in the Challenge.
Charlie.
