The Challenge Power Rankings Week 9: Expect The Unpredictable

The Challenge knew things were getting stale with their game. The same contenders year in and year out. The producers knew they had to shake things up. They did just that. This game requires everyone who wants to be in the final to win an elimination challenge first. If they cannot do that, they’re not going to run The Challenge. This is why we’ve seen the likes of CT, Jordan, Tori, Ashley all get eliminated early in this game. All four of those have either won or ran in finals in the last three Challenges. This twist has completely flipped the game on its head.
TOP CONTENDERS
1. Rogan (LW: 1)
2. Jenny (LW 2)
3. Wes (LW: 4)
4. Johnny Bananas (LW:5)
5. Fessy (LW 9)
Thoughts: I know, four guys and one girl, what gives? Well, the women’s group is very watered down at the moment. If Jenna shows off the Barbie Beast more often, she can be in this group. Nany wins again and doesn’t fly off the handle, she can be in this group too. Also, we had double-elimination where males were the focus of the episode. Fessy made a major statement even though he beat Jordan at a challenge where he’s a -200 favorite if we had live betting on The Challenge.
CONTENDERS WITH A FLAW
6. Dee (LW 10)Kaliah (LW 12)
7. Nany (LW:8)
8. Jenna (LW 11)
9. Kaliah (LW 6)
10: Cory (LW 13)
11. Swaggy C (LW: 14)
12. Mattie (LW 12)
Thoughts: There is some movement here in the second tier. Tori is gone. Jenna moves back into the top 14 after her elimination win. We’ll see if she can put it together without a visit to elimination this week. Kaliah and Bear are one of the biggest storylines which means they’re near the top. Kaliah also seems well-protected after the Nelson drama. Nany might end up at six when it is all said and done, but she needs to reign in her drinking a bit. Dee gets a bump up after I realized her power in this game.
COULD CONTEND IF THINGS GO PERFECTLY
13. Nelson (LW 20)
14. Kaycee (LW: 15)
15. Kyle (LW 16)
16. Bayleigh (LW: 17)
17. Aneesa (LW 19)
Thoughts: Much like Jenna, Nelson continues to be an unpredictable force in this rankings. I felt like he was a goner but didn’t realize he is a great elimination competitor. The No Quitters podcast noted that Nelson is 8-1 in eliminations. That’s rather impressive. He is sniffing towards the second tier, but I need to see him go two weeks without doing something hilariously stupid.
NOT A THREAT TO CONTEND
18. Josh (LW 19)
19. Big T (LW: 22)
20. Melissa (LW: 21)
Thoughts: There is a chance that two people from this group could go tonight. Josh and Big T. I fucking hope Josh is no longer on The Challenge. He tries to start some stuff with Swaggy C on tonight’s episode. Big T’s foot is more managed than a basketball player who refuses to take care of his feet. This season has kept around the weak links unlike years in the past.
