Win Butler Can Stay The Hell Out of Milwaukee
Some of you might know who Win Butler is, some of you may not. Win Butler is the lead singer of Arcade Fire, one of the biggest indie bands in the world. Butler is a noted NBA fan. He has found himself in the NBA celebrity All-Star Game a couple times. The Ringer NBA Show had Butler on the show to talk about the season. As the Milwaukee Record pointed out, Butler made a snide remark about Milwaukee not being a ‘culturally rich city.’ Are you fucking kidding me, you indie asshole? Get all the out of here, you skinny jean wearing douchebag. Here’s the full quote for context.
“It’s like, New Orleans is an amazing, culturally rich city,” Butler said shortly after the 40-minute mark. “It’s not like we’re in Oklahoma City or, like, Milwaukee or something. There’s worse towns to live in and play basketball.”
Let me tell you a little something about Milwaukee, Win. First of all, we have culture oozing out of our great city. From the cream city brick to the breweries that have started here then the rise of the craft breweries that have developed. An emerging food scene that people talk about in magazines all over the country. Workers in Chicago are choosing to live in Milwaukee versus staying in Chicago too. There is so much I could say about Milwaukee, Mr. Butler, but I’m going to stop here. It is clear you’re an asshole who has never spent enough time in this lovely city.
I like Arcade Fire. I like their music. Yet their lead singer cannot show his face around this city during playoff time. When the Bucks are in the NBA Finals, I hope the team denies him courtside tickets.
You’re on the list, asshole.
Charlie.
