Zac Taylor Being Favored Over Matt LaFleur For Coach Of The Year Is A Joke

Matt LaFleur is looking like one of the best coaches in football. He is certainly the best young coach in football. The work that he has done in the past three years with 39 wins and nine losses is absolutely absurd. It felt like the tide had turned on LaFleur getting his flowers from the league. He became the favorite for Coach of the Year as people started to recognize that it was only about Aaron Rodgers. LaFleur had something to do with Green Bay’s run of success. Well, it appears the betting market for Coach of the Year is as volatile as the stock market as Zac Taylor takes his spot as the top dog after beating Kansas City. I ranted about this below.
I do realize that I’m using the argument of Burrow and Chase which is similar to Rodgers and Adams, but hear me out. Do you really think they would have won the AFC North without them? Like I think Nick Sirianni has done a better job with his guys than Taylor because he’s working with less. Another question to ask yourself about Taylor is does Cincinnati win the AFC North if Lamar Jackson doesn’t get hurt? Baltimore lost five straight games and paved the way for the Bengals to win the North which is on par with its NFC counterpart.
Rewarding a guy for one good year feels off to me. Yes, Cincinnati played better in Taylor’s first year, but that was due to Burrow. When we went out, Cincinnati went into the tank. Bengals have also had some bizarre losses after their biggest wins of the year showing the immaturity of this football team.
If LaFleur gets fucked again, he will not win one until Rodgers leaves. Then when LaFleur is still coaching successful teams, maybe people will finally get it.
