This is pretty cool. The NFL is allowing players this week to wear special cleats that fit with the team colors for a cause. The hashtag is #MyCauseMyCleats. I think this is one of the cooler things the NFL has done in the Goodell era. A blind squirrel finds a nut every once in awhile. Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers decided to participate as well, and he’s wearing a two different colors of cleat to honor the MAAC Fund, a charity near and dear to Aaron’s heart.
What I like the most about this campaign is it’s for charity truly to get the word out about different NFL players’ charities, and it’s not some rinky dink campaign that Nike or adidas put together. Instead, it’s all of the different shoe providers making custom cleats for the league. Let’s hope the next step is selling these cleats to raise money for the respective charity.
