National Hockey League opened up their season yesterday, and one of the young stars of hockey, Auston Matthews of Toronto Maple Leafs, knew how to make an impression. The second overall pick in last year’s draft scored four goals in a losing effort as Leafs fall to Ottawa Senators, 5-4. I’m not a hockey guy per say, but I’m not going to ignore when the next great American hockey player scores four goals in his first NHL game of his career. This also means there will be wild expectations to put on this kid especially in Toronto where they are so thirsty for the playoffs and Stanley Cup (Years away from that goal). It’s like when you get a 3.9 in your first semester of college, it’s like your parents expect to do it every time out.
