Bucks Buzz: Giannis Carries Bucks to Decisive Game 3 Win
Milwaukee Bucks went to Boston for Game 3 tied 1-1. This game matters a great deal. If Milwaukee won, they flip the homecourt and play with complete house money on Monday night. If Boston won, Game 4 becomes a critical, must-win Bucks game. The former happened for Milwaukee. They won 121-116 in a game that was much more of a blowout than the final score. Milwaukee dominated the second half with a 40 point third quarter where they buried Boston with big threes and Giannis Antetokounmpo being an unstoppable force inside the paint. Bucks take Game 3 and the pressure goes back to Boston.
Player of the Game: Giannis Antetokounmpo – Without question, Giannis played like an MVP tonight. Sure, Cryin Kyrie wants to complain about the calls for him, but he did so much tonight. Almost all of his work was done at the paint or the free throw line. After Antetokounmpo struggled in Game 1 and parts of Game 2 in the paint, he made it a point to own it for TD Garden. Antetokounmpo finished with 32 points, 13 rebounds, eight assists and three blocks. If you want to complain that Giannis did all his work from the line, look how he helped the other players on his team with the rebounds and assists.
Silver Star: George Hill – What a game from George Hill. Remember that the Bucks traded for him for Matthew Dellavedova and John Henson? It is ironic that Rodney Hood and Hill played huge roles in playoff victories last night, and both players were on the Cleveland Cavaliers earlier this year. Hill finished with 21 points on nine-of-12 shooting along with two threes. Hill played a huge part in second half. I’m curious to see what his playing time will look like in Game 4 after another bad Eric Bledsoe game.
Thing I Liked: The bench was awesome – To me, the biggest difference maker in Game 3 was Milwaukee having outscored Boston’s bench, 42-10. Let’s not forget that Gordon Hayward hangs on the Celtics bench, and he did almost nothing in this game. Hill played large part in the bench mob, but Pat Connaughton did as well with 14 points. The Mass native came through in the clutch after a few tough games at home. Mom’s home cooking must have paid off for him. Ersan Ilyasova had a few great moments as well.
Thing I didn’t like: Last year’s Eric Bledsoe shows up again – Last night is what we did not want from Bledsoe. He missed 15 of his 19 shots. He did get a huge layup late when things got really tight all of a sudden, but other than that, he played like trash offensively. Bledsoe needs to be more of a third or fourth option in these type of games. This does not seem to correlate with him though.
Highlight of the Night: I was out of words with this Giannis play.

Next up: Bucks are going for the kill in Game 4. I can not put my head around three straight wins against Boston, but it is definitely possible. Celtics are starting to crack a little bit. They’re going to need a big game from Al Horford or Irving to win this game. Giannis has that killer look for the first time in the playoffs, and that should scare Boston shitless.
