Bucks Buzz: Milwaukee Looks Playoff Ready vs. Houston
Milwaukee Bucks are closing in on the number one seed. They have only seven games left and a four game hold on the top spot. Some could have argue when the MVP showdown happened at the Fiserv Forum on Tuesday night that the Houston Rockets wanted it more than the Bucks considering the Topsy-turvey Western Conference. Bucks did not agree with the argument. They dominated the second half and put Houston away with an impactful 108-94 victory earning a season sweep against the Rockets. That is the first time the Bucks have swept the Rockets since the 1984-85 season. This was an awesome win with an awesome crowd carrying this Bucks team on Tuesday night.
Player of the Game: Eric Bledsoe – For all the talk about Giannis and Harden, Bledsoe stepped up nicely in this game. He seemed like the one who had the rivalry and the chip on his shoulder about Harden. Bledsoe had a great game with 23 points, seven assists and four made 3-pointers. He played with a great energy last night, and the crowd fed off him in a major way. If Bledsoe becomes a big game guy, the Bucks are an entirely different team.
Silver Star: Giannis Antetokounmpo – Even though this wasn’t peak Giannis, he still got some buckets in this game. Antetokounmpo finishes with another double-double – 19 points, 14 rebounds on seven of 15 shooting. Antetokounmpo played an efficient game out there, and he did not try to do too much with Harden on the floor. As we know, this isn’t a one-game determination on who is MVP or not, so, it makes me happy that Giannis did not play like that at all. The game came to him which meant 19 points and 15 shot attempts.
Positive: Sterling Brown didn’t get caught up in the moment – With the Bucks’ myriad of injuries, Sterling Brown became next man up for the starting two-guard position. Brown did a very good job in the role and fit in nicely. He had eight points, 11 rebounds on four made baskets. Brown did not look like a player who felt out of place with the starting lineup. That’s encouraging development, and good for Brown, he sees this moment to potentially become a starter with Tony Snell and others out.
Negative: Khris Middleton struggles mightily – Middleton did not have a great night from the field. He took the most shots out of any Bucks player and only made six baskets. Now, Harden had an equally bad night, so, it’s not like it is that big of a deal, but Middleton has done this now too many times to count when facing a good team this year. I hope the Bucks coaching staff uncovers something for him to get going against these type of teams.
Highlight of the Night: Not a highlight, more so listen to the crowd last night on a Tuesday in Milwaukee. On complete fucking fire.

Next up: Bucks stay home and take on the Los Angeles Clippers on Thursday night. Clips have a chance to be the second team to sweep the Bucks. It will be interesting to see where their headspace is at considering they just clinched a playoff spot last night. Like Houston, every game matters to them down the stretch. If the Bucks win, it will be almost a formality that they’re the one seed.
