BucksCap: 100 Pt Streak Over But Winning Streak Is Not

Milwaukee Bucks scored 100+ points in the last 82 games until yesterday afternoon. Good news for Milwaukee, they did not lose the game. Bucks tightened down on defense and held the Charlotte Hornets to 85 points. Bucks won 93-85 led by a massive game by Giannis Antetokounmpo. Bucks are on a six-game winning streak and haven’t lost since the All-Star Break. Even without Khris Middleton for the second straight game and a sick Eric Bledsoe, Milwaukee found a way to win the game.
Player of the Game: Giannis Antetokounmpo – I wrote about Giannis this morning about what did against Charlotte. I don’t need to repeat myself, but man, he was great. If you missed this one, I highly recommend you watch the extended highlights. Not to be this guy, but what Giannis did yesterday was better than LeBron’s triple-double versus Zion Williamson. Although that’s a fun topic to debate today.
Honorable Mention: Brook Lopez – He didn’t have a great game from the field, but Lopez played really well in this one. Giannis needed someone else to help out, and while he didn’t get much support, Brook helped out. He played great defense in this one like he has all season. Lopez scored 16 points, seven rebounds, and three blocks. Lopez should be first-team all Defense when the season ends. Hopefully, he gets enough shine from the national folks.
One Thing I Didn’t Like: Eric Bledsoe had the poops – Apparently, Bledsoe’s stomach was not feeling right and led to George Hill closing out the game versus the Bucks point guard. Mike Budenholzer said he dealt with some stomach issues. With the unknown about Middelton tonight against Miami, Bledsoe being also out would not be ideal for this team. Bledsoe is a fighter though, therefore, even if he’s not 100 percent, I expect him to give it a go on Monday night.
Next up: Milwaukee faces Miami in a showdown in South Beach. If Middleton and Bledsoe do not play, there isn’t much to takeaway from it. The media will overblow it if Miami beats them though. Bucks are currently undefeated on back-to-backs. Miami is not playing great basketball right now. And they’re also playing their third game in four days.
