ChallengeCap: The Twist Rears Its Ugly Head

The Challenge is always known for their ‘Twist’. They have one twist that is the story of the season. Sometimes, the twist is annoying that people get completely involved with it and ignore the other parts of the season. Let’s hope this season doesn’t go that direction. CT decided to take the twist and enter himself into the Purgatory to get that red skull. Jay pulled off an unthinkable upset by beating CT and sending him home. This is game proves to use that things are wide open. Jay gets a huge win, Bayleigh wins in the challenge. It appears we have a strong rookie class.
Rate the episode: 9/10 – I would have given this a full 10, but the challenge itself wasn’t that exciting to me. It is a puzzle that blew up a truck. Those aren’t that fun to me. We had the first time out, and it was Halloween. Dee decided to make out with Jay to piss off Rogan, so, that’s an immediate rivalry between the two. I don’t get Dee and Rogan’s relationship at all. It seems off the rails with both being crazy. The Bananas-Ashley rivalry is fantastic too.
How did the Power Rankings hold up? – Not great! CT ranked as my second contender and he is gone. That happens often with these power rankings. Bayleigh and Swaggy C are going to move way up next week. One thing I did nail was Nelson falling in the rankings. He will likely go down again next week.
One Thing I Liked: Seeing Wes and Bananas team up as they did was AWESOME – They drummed up who would be headed into the Purgatory. It came down between Jay, Bananas, and Nelson. Wes had a big choice and could have sent Bananas into elimination. Wes did not do it. He sent in Jay. They’re Challenge official. The Super Powers still exist and they did not crumble. Bananas is probably moving into the top contenders’ list.
One thing I didn’t Like: I overreacted on Twitter – Man, people got into my mentions with one of my Challenge takes when I said ‘Swaggy C and Bayleigh are one of the most unlikable couples in Challenge history.’ People didn’t like it and listed off a bunch of other annoying Challenge couples. This is probably an overreaction. It’s too early to make that call. We’ll see if that tweet ages well like a fine wine or ages poorly like a good piece of meat.
What to watch next week: I’m curious to see what happens with Ashley next week. Bananas might go for the jugular here and try to throw her in here. I guess that Melissa and Big T are both on the chopping block too.
Charlie.
