Mike McCarthy Showed Himself As Mike McCarthy Again

Mike McCarthy is one of the better Green Bay Packers’ coaches of all time. McCarthy won a Super Bowl and multiple division titles. McCarthy came up short in the postseason after winning a Super Bowl in 2010. Some of this was on McCarthy. Other parts of the Packers falling short did not hinge on McCarthy. But there were certain things such as hanging on to Dom Capers far too fucking long, being more conservative with decision-making than the OAN Network led to the continued postseason failures. McCarthy returned to the postseason but this time with Dallas Cowboys. The third seed in the playoffs with a dangerous offense and a defense with talented players all over the field. Still, Dallas fell to San Francisco, 23-17 and they lost yet another playoff game at JerryWorld. McCarthy’s decision-making did not help at all.

I'm told OC Kellen Moore called the QB run and Mike McCarthy was on the headset to OK it. Not either's finest hour. Dak should have checked off. I don't get any of it.

We have seen throughout the years as Packers fans with Mike McCarthy getting too cute. He overthinks himself and short-circuits on the sidelines. Quarterback draw is the last thing you wanted to do there. Tony Romo, who isn’t as good as he used to be, nailed it here with a quick slant and immediate go down. Then Dak Prescott will have another chance at the end zone with one of his talented wide receivers. Instead, the time runs out, and while the Cowboys were always going to be the biggest story of Monday, they’re now the laughingstock too. McCarthy tried to defend it and it sounded like a record heard in January in Green Bay.
