I missed getting you all my picks this week. I didn’t mean for it to happen, but that’s how it shook out. Let’s try this instead where I recap all the action and rank the importance of each game. Some matter more than others on week-to-week basis.

1. Atlanta 48 Carolina 33 – So Falcons may have found something with their offense this season. I’m not sure if their defense can stop a damn thing, but they look like a team who can put 40 points on anybody. Carolina is in real trouble. Cam Newton might miss next week with a concussion, and they just allowed Julio Jones to have 300 receiving yards.

2. Oakland 28 Baltimore 27 – Oakland is for real, y’all. Derek Carr is a bonafide stud, and their defense is holding up. Raiders went 3-0 on the road all on the East Coast. They’re one of the early surprises of the NFL season, and it’s not going to surprise me if they end up contending for a playoff spot. Tough loss for Baltimore, they battle back but didn’t play well for three quarters. Ravens should take some solace in Terrance West might be their running back.

3. Los Angeles 17 Arizona 13 – Rams are 3-1. Case Keenum is 6-2 as a starter. Maybe Jeff Fisher wasn’t kidding when he said he’s done with the 7-9 bullshit. Rams looked good again on both sides of the football. Todd Gurley’s slow start is a bit of an issue, but they’re winning without him being great which is encouraging. Arizona might be in more trouble than Carolina. 1-3, Carson Palmer is concussed and they play Thursday night on the road against San Francisco. Can David Johnson be enough to save the Cardinals season?

4. Seattle 27 New York 17 – What injury? Russell Wilson didn’t look hurt on Sunday. He had 300 yards and gave the Jets all sorts of problems with his arm. It appears the Jets secondary is nothing what it was last season as teams are passing on them at will. Not a good look and asking too much of the front seven. Not to mention, Ryan Fitzpatrick has become an interception machine. Jets have some issues that aren’t easy to fix.

5. Pittsburgh 43 Kansas City 7 – What a difference a week makes. I didn’t see this coming from either team. This is a blip for Kansas City although I would worried teams might have found the way to beat Marcus Peters – Deep ball with speed receivers. Pittsburgh can do so much with their offense, and we all should be terrified.

6. Denver 27 Tampa Bay 7 – I’m starting to believe I could play quarterback for Denver, and they would still win. This defense continues to look great week in, week out and fixed some their issues stopping the run which is big. Denver versus Atlanta next week will be very interesting given how both teams have played thus far. Will Trevor Sieman be back there or Paxton Lynch?

7. Buffalo 16 New England 0 – Not making too much of this game for New England. They mailed it in like me on a Friday afternoon. It was pretty much decided from the start. Good win for Bills who return to .500 in a weak division. There might be hope for Rex Ryan after all.

8. Jacksonville 30 Indianapolis – It’s really important for Jacksonville to get off the 0-fer wagon as well as hold a lead late. Blake Bortles looked great overseas. Andrew Luck kinda broke after the game and seems utterly frustrated with this team. Colts are a mess, and I’m not sure what they can do to fix it.

9. Dallas 24 San Francisco 17 – Ezekial Elliott is one of my favorite players to watch in football. I liked him at Ohio State, and he’s great thus far as a star running back. He did most of his work post-Navarro Bowman injury. Bill Simmons calls one team his ‘good bad team’ and San Francisco might get that honor.

10. Houston 27 Tennessee 20 – Brock Osweiler got it done without involving DeAndre Hopinks and Lamar Miller being slowed down. They were humming on all cylinders this week, and Will Fuller continues his strong play with a receiving touchdown then a big punt return late. Good news for Tennessee is DeMarco Murray seems to have returned to form.

11. New Orleans 35 San Diego 34 – Brutal loss for San Diego. They sat on a lead and it bit them in the ass yet again this season. Chargers could really be 4-0 this year as all three losses have been taken from them in the fourth quarter. Mike McCoy continues to cash checks though. John Kuhn, friend of the program, with three touchdowns which will drive all the pinheads to say Green Bay should have kept him.

12. Chicago 17 Detroit 13 – No, Brian Hoyer shouldn’t be the starting quarterback, shut up. Jordan Howard might be the real deal for the young Bears.

13. Washington 30 Cleveland 21 – Kirk Cousins had another good game, and Washington returns to .500. Nice business-like win for them.
