Should I Binge This?! Tiger King on Netflix

I know that I’m late on a Tiger King review. But hear me out why I’m writing out. There are people out there who are wondering if they should watch Tiger King or not. A friend or two have told them about it, but they’re not sure if it will be for them. That is why I’m here today. I hope that I will push you towards Tiger King. It is easily the most insane documentary you’ll watch. It is more a long-form oral history than a documentary of everyone telling the story of how Joe Exotic ended up in jail for a murder-for-hire scheme. There is so much more, but there is a reason why it’s the most popular show on Netflix during quarantine times. It is on Netflix and seven episodes long.
One Thing to like: No one came out looking good from it – Here’s the thing, everyone seemed out of a movie. You watch the first three episodes and you cannot believe that these people exist in the country. Doc Antle is a guy that could have his documentary too. The guy has a fucking harem of young women and acts like there is nothing wrong with that. I don’t seem to understand the correlation between owning big cats and polygamy but it’s there.
One thing to dislike: Look, if you’re an animal person or a cat person, it might not be for you. There are a lot of animals held in captivity. If that’s the type of thing that isn’t your jam. I get not wanting to watch this show. Going past the animal issues, it is two episodes too long. The third episode could be sliced to 10 minutes and the final episode doesn’t tie up as much stuff as you want.
Who to hate more: Carol Baskin or Jeff Lowe? – This is the topic worth debating in the office if anyone went to the office. Carol completely sucks and killed her husband. Jeff set up Joe Exotic and is a complete douchebag. They both suck. But if you had to hate one a little bit more, I guess I go with Jeff due to him being a terrible human. But it’s close.
Should I watch it? – Give it two episodes at the very most. If you’re not hooked by then, feel free to cut bait. And don’t worry if you don’t like it. I was not fond of Making of a Murderer even though people loved it. Just not my thing. But considering all the memes and the attention it is getting currently, it’s worth watching the first two episodes to see what the fuss is about.
