Shouts to NFL Scout Who Made Delanie Walker Mad

“Disrespect is generally overplayed as motivation in the NFL and the whole league knows Walker is a fine player. But in this instance, what he read was clearly a trigger for Walker. When TE Delanie Walker is considered the No. 1 receiver, a team is thin at wide receiver,” the preview in the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel wrote. “‘They’re lacking in skill on the perimeter,’ one scout said. ‘It’s maybe by design. They put their money up front and with the running backs. … Walker is a former wide receiver that has had a really good career. He gets consistent separation if you cover him with a linebacker.’”
Yo, I’m not telling Bob McGinn how to do his job or his editor for that matter, but it would be cool if the scouts turn down the volume a little bit. No wonder Delanie Walker, Tajae Sharpe and Rishard Matthews played their asses off on Sunday. This isn’t the only reason why Tennessee won the game, but it added a little fire to their bellies heading into this game. I’m not mad at this scout, but I wish words could have been chosen a little wiser here. It’s a good to know for the next meeting for Tennessee that they obviously read the press clippings out there.
After the last couple weeks it’s clear that Titans have a damn good offense cooking right now. Marcus Mariota is a star in the making, Matthews finally found his game and Walker has been great for the whole season.
Charlie.
