The ChallengeCap: New Format Knocks Out Another Contender

This season of The Challenge is doing the opposite of what it usually does in a season. Due to the need to win a Purgatory, some stars are leaving earlier than expected. We already saw contenders like CT and Ashley get bounced. Then we see Jordan leave last night in something where the odds were 100 percent against him. Jordan and CT both being gone paves the way for the old school of Johnny Bananas and Wes to control this game. I said a few weeks that it is wide open to see who wins and still feel that way a week later.
Rate the Episode: 8/10 – Nothing to complain about here with this episode. The Challenge was pretty good albeit rather simple. They were stacking weights in a certain order while covered in bubbles. Nelson went back to it again with the drama in the house. This time with Kyle who finally finds himself involved. Pole wrestling is always a good elimination challenge, but with the competitors in this one, it did not have the same juice as I would have liked.
One thing that didn’t surprise me: Nelson continues his impressive run of being the most hated in the bunker – Nelson is the bad guy of this season. He played this role a few times throughout his Challenge career. This year it is no different for him. Nelson tried to play the game with building alliances with everyone, instead of picking a select few guys or girls to be part of his group. He now has a red skull so you have to take him slightly more seriously, but do see him running in the final?
One thing I Liked: MTV’s music choices were fire jams again – I don’t why The Challenge producers decided to go 90s music this season. But I am completely here for it. Maybe there is an older audience who watches The Challenge? They played ‘Machinehead’ by Bush and ‘Freak on a Leash’ by Korn today. Both great choices that I’m adding to my workout playlists.
How did the Power Rankings do – I predicted that Jordan and Nelson would go into elimination. Bear was only the top 10 because of his relationship with Kaliah. I should have kept Fessy near the top. I knew that guy could contend with his body, and that seems to be the case. Although, he is a massive douchebag.
What to watch: It appears we have a Swaggy-Josh fight next week. We will see about the status of Big T’s toe. Jenny also apparently gets in the mud.
Charlie.
