Milwaukee Bucks took an undefeated record into Boston on Thursday night. They played the third top team in the Eastern Conference within the last eight days. This would be their toughest task with Boston Celtics on the road. The same location where the Bucks season ended last season in Game 7 in the first round of the Eastern Conference playoffs. Celtics could not miss on Thursday night. They made a franchise-record 24 threes which tied the record for the most threes by an opponent. Still, Milwaukee fought like hell and battled back in this game to make it a fight in the fourth. Sadly, there were too many mental mistakes late in the game costing the Bucks their eighth straight win.

Player of the Game: Giannis Antetokounmpo – What a night from Giannis. He carried the load tonight for the Bucks. Antetokounmpo scored 33 points with 11 rebounds and a couple assists. He took the team on his back and will them back in this game. Here’s the thing about Antetokounmpo’s season. It’s been super choppy. Like he hasn’t really showed off the top Giannis game, but this game we had a peek at it last night in Boston.

Honorable Mention: Malcolm Brogdon – Even though Khris Middleton had a good push at the end, Malcolm Brogdon played a better overall game. He scored 16 points with six rebounds making 6-of-10 shots. Prez made some big shots down the stretch and helped aid the comeback. Brogdon’s play has been one of the many bright spots in the early part of the season.

Thing I liked: Never say die – Look, Milwaukee could have easily fell apart in the fourth quarter. We’ve seen the Bucks wave the white flag in the early part of the fourth quarter and just call it. Not these Bucks. Milwaukee battled back and made this a basketball game at the end. That’s the type of shit that can build motivation for the rest of the season. Hopefully, it shows Milwaukee that they’re never out of a basketball game.

Thing I didn’t like: -15 three-point differential – Yikes. Milwaukee will not win many games where Milwaukee was -45 on three-point shots. Yes, that’s a real number. Celtics outscored Milwaukee by 45 points on three-pointers alone tonight. Three-point defense needs to get a bit better, but let’s be honest, there’s not many games where a team will make 24 threes in a game. Even in today’s NBA, that’s an absurd amount.

Next up: Milwaukee heads home for a quickie to play Sacramento on Sunday afternoon. Sunday’s were not the Bucks friends a couple years ago, and last year, it was sort of pick your poison. Kings are high-flying with six wins in their first nine games including last night’s blowout of the Hawks led by De’Aaron Fox’s triple-double. This is not a walkover for Milwaukee. You want to be on the right foot heading into a four-game West Coast trip.
