Bucks’ Crazy Streak Continues as the Nuggets Run Them Off The Court

Do you ever know someone that others might call ‘crazy?’ This could be your ex, a best friend, a person you drink with but not really friends with them outside of the bottle and cork. That’s the Milwaukee Bucks right now. They make no sense. Good luck trying to figure what’s up with this basketball team at the moment. They win five straight games only to have that winning streak snapped like Joe Theismann’s leg as Denver beats them by 31 points. This is the worst loss for the Bucks since getting blown out by Philadelphia two years ago by 35 points.
What went wrong for the Bucks? – Denver did whatever they wanted to at the rim: This cannot happen if you’re the Milwaukee Bucks. Brook Lopez and Giannis Antetokounmpo are too good of rim defenders to give up so much around the basket. I get that Nikola Jokic is on a heater like Nick Pappageorgio at the craps table. But still, they allowed so much in the paint today especially early on. Denver finished with 56 points in the paint to Milwaukee’s 37.
What also went wrong for the Bucks? – Bud needs to know when to pull the cord on Donte: After an awesome game on Thursday night, things have went downhill for Donte. On Sunday, he played like me who was out drinking all day with everything being short. Tonight, he could not hit a fucking thing. On top of that, he missed a huge breakaway dunk that would have started to build momentum for the Bucks. But alas, they were left with Donte’s pathetic night from the field.
One thing to think about? – Is this an effect of the COVID gyms: Think about this for a second. Is it harder to have comebacks in a pandemic stadium versus a full one? If this were a packed house, do you think the home team might make a run with all the noise behind them? I might be grapsing for straws here after a tough Bucks loss which happens from time to time. Let’s hope there are not more of these blowouts in our future.
Next up: Pupil meets teacher as Taylor Jenkins takes on Mike Budenholzer to wrap up the first half of the NBA season as the Bucks and Grizzlies get together. The Grizz have been up and down of late, although, they scored a good road win last night against Washington. They haven’t played that well against good competition, so, Milwaukee will look to end the season on a high note.
