Budenholzer’s ‘Jabari Snub’ Isn’t a Sign

Mike Budenholzer appeared on Woj’s podcast yesterday talking about his new job. The interview was great. Budenholzer gave a lot of open and clear answers about what this Milwaukee Bucks team might look like this season. If you’ve listen to Jason Kidd over the last couple years, this is a complete breath of fresh air to hear an actual coach talk about actual strategy instead of talking in vague statements. That said, it would not be a Bucks topic with something to have Bucks Twitter meltdown over, and that’s him leaving out Jabari Parker’s name in the podcast.
For anybody that hasn't listened to the Woj Pod yet and wants to know who Bud specifically mentions and does not mention…

It's Jabari. He calls out Giannis, Middleton, Bledsoe, Brogdon, Thon, and TONY SNELL. But not a single allusion to JP.— Mitchell Maurer (@Mitchell_NBA) July 11, 2018
Okay, here’s the thing. Woj didn’t push him on Parker, and the fact he’s still a free agent. I’m sure Budenholzer would like to coach Jabari, but he probably hasn’t spent that much time going over the good and bad. I don’t worry about this kind of thing from the Bucks coach. If anything, he’s being professional and not mentioning a free agent. Things could be different as a restricted, but there could be some tampering implications if he actually mentions Parker by name.
We will do not know if Budenholzer will get a chance to coach the former second overall pick. Parker continues to keep people in the dark from what he’s going to do in the offseason. It’s a mystery to all involved at this point. That’s probably more reason why Budenholzer decided to not step his toes in the Parker water.
