Chiefs-Rams Made Me Mad as a Packers Fan

Kansas City Chiefs and the Los Angeles Rams played the best game of the NFL season. There is no question about it. If you missed, you spent your night or morning refreshing Twitter to recap yourself then realized it was useless with all the things that happened in the game. No question about it, the best regular season game that I had zero stakes in. That said, a growing annoyance came over me. Multiple times throughout the game ‘Well, why can’t the Packers do that>” ‘Wish they ran something like this in their system seems like it would work.’ This festering thought continues into this morning.
Here’s the thing if the Packers were the Bills with a young quarterback and rebuilding, there’s no thought like this because that team is years away from being successful again. With Green Bay having Aaron Rodgers, it’s a different story. You want to have a couple Super Bowl experiences, and you want to part of the class of the National Football League. Right now, Green Bay is probably on the third tier of NFL teams. And if you talk about innovative, Green Bay is near the bottom of the teams in the league. All of the top teams would be considered innovative in their offense. Is Green Bay ignoring this because of Mike McCarthy’s ego or Aaron Rodgers likes their offense at current day?
I doubt the latter and doubt the other part too. McCarthy failed by bringing back Joe Philbin instead of trying to hire a young, talented mind that he could pick his brain and become smarter at football. No way would McCarthy hand over play calling duties again, but even if there was something from the small Sean McVay tree or someone working under Kyle Shanahan, it would have been beneficial for Green Bay to have that on their team. Instead, they added a dinosaur in Joe Philbin.
This festering thought is not a new feeling by the way, it’s the same way I felt watching the Warriors take on one of the best teams in the NBA and remind myself I’m a Bucks fan with an archaic coach. Sound familar?
